Blackberry Bold

Typically I will announce a new toy with the title of 'New Toy' or 'New Addition'. For my new Blackberry Bold I've stopped doing that.

It arrived yesterday, courtesy of the lovely Barbara a Vodafone who ordered it as an upgrade from my Blackberry pearl. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play with it since yesterday as I was out (See Cooked Spire and Rain).

I did play with it last night - activating it onto our BES with minimum hassle.

Good:

• Fantastic, crisp, high resolution screen.
• Fast video playback
• Nice sounding speakers
• Google Maps picks up my position very very well
• Good camera
• It's a phone
• It's a Blackberry
• 2GB SD card moved from old handset with no hassle

Not quite so good (Bad):

• Flickr uploader refuses to work with the 4.6 OS GRRRRR (sucks)
• Roller ball isn't quite as sweet as the one on the Pearl
• Blackberry Maps suck.
• Larger (in all dimensions) than the pearl - no longer really able to pop it in your pocket
• Battery is %okay%, but I'll review that after a few charges

All in all, very happy with it, even better once I have the Flickr uploader (or something like it) working.
